Irene is the first featured customer in our series. A resident of Northeast Minneapolis, Irene first met Sadia at the farmer’s market on University Avenue, and has been one of our favorite people to see at the Northeast Farmer’s Market in recent years. Here’s what Irene has to say:

What’s your favorite way to enjoy Sadia’s Sauce?

Hard to pick one favorite way. I like the extra hot in marinades and stir fries, the hot on beans, the mild on sandwiches and the sweet on breakfast eggs.

Who is an inspiration in your life?

People who follow their dreams and venture into the unknown inspire me. People like Sadia, and my two grandfathers, who came to this country from across the seas and started life all over again. Somalians, Germans, Norwegians–so many took this courageous journey. Most of us will never have to face those challenges.
